Walter Ray Williams, Jr Wins his 45th PBA Title at the Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship
After a grinding week, Walter Ray winds up victorious with his 45th career PBA title using his Ntense LevRG. This week the PBA used the special Dick Weber Pattern that required a great deal of accuracy and attention to the changing lanes. CONGRATULATIONS on a hard fought tournament! We're glad to see back in the Winner's circle.

WRW's championship ball was an 'Ntense LevRG drilled with a 60 degree drilling angle, pin 2 3/4" from the PAP, 25 degree angle to the VAL with the balance hole in the P2 location.  This is the same ball Walter used at the WTBA World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand in August of 2008 on the long oil pattern to win the Singles and the Masters title.  The ball was drilled at Brian Brazeau's Pro Shop in Ocala, FL by Mike Stiles.

Rochester city average has been Mo'd over -- again!

it wasn't that long ago that Jeff Zeitvogel (using MoRich equipment and relying mostly upon the Ravage) set a record many thought wouldn't hold up at 242.2. Well, congratulations to Jerry Brunette Jr. on raising the bar in Rochester, NY, but posting a 250.05 average for 119 games to set the new city record. In combination with his arsenal of MoRich equipment (this year he started with the LevRG and finished strong with the 'Nsane LevRG), Jerry remains a formable foe any time he steps on any lane as demonstrated by his numerous tournament victories, honor scores, and now a new city record. Just imagine what's in store next year when he unleashes the SOLID LevRG! Go get 'em Jerry! (Update 5/13 -- Jerry just shot 300 with the Solid LevRG -- you've been warned!!!!)
Solid LevRG Release Announcement

Announcing the latest member of the LevRG family -- Solid LevRG -- the new "Benchmark Ball". With so much Consistent, Reliable, and Controllable power, Solid LevRG is destined to become the first ball out of your bag for normal lane conditions as well as being an excellent choice for slower ball speed and rev dominant players on ALL conditions. Lucy Sandelin throws a Triple during the Sudden Death portion of the Clash of Champions
Lucy Sandelin, Senior Queens Champion and cancer survivor, threw three consecutive strikes during the one ball sudden death portion of the Clash of Champions on CBS TV Sat.  Lucy was using a MoRich Awesome Revs.  Unfortunately, Lucy pulled the ball slightly on her fourth shot and did not advance to the match play portion of the tournament.  MoRich is proud that Lucy has chosen to use MoRich balls exclusively for her competitive bowling.  Great bowling, Lucy!

Harvey Wins 1st Senior Title with MoRich Ball
Robert Harvey of Boise, Idaho partnered with Kelly Kulick of Union, NJ to win the Ladies and Legends Senior PBA title at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, ILL.  It was Robert's first Senior Tour title.

After qualifying Robert went to MoRich president, Mo Pinel, who attended the tournament. He told Mo that he had a good reaction after the oil pattern transitioned, but needed a ball with a different reaction for the fresh oil.  Robert and Mo went to the PBA truck and drilled an 'Nsane LevRG for the fresh oil.  Mo did a 40 degree drilling angle, pin 4" from the PAP, 40 degree angle to the VAL with a P4 hole location, sanded 2000 abralon (Dual Angle Layout with a Gradient Line Balance Hole Location).  The layout produced a quick revving, short transition break point, which was perfectly suited for the fresh oil.  Robert used this 'Nsane to start each block in the match play and used it exclusively in the step ladder finals.  MoRich would like to thank Robert for choosing MoRich to win his first PBA Senior tour title.

'Nsane LevRG Release Announcement

Some say Mo has finally gone over the edge -- Taking Angularity to an all new level by making the strongest core in history even stronger and wrapping it around our all new RDX Pearl cover, 'Nsane LevRG offers the most Radical, Dynamic, and eXplosive backend reaction ever seen in the bowling world! Take the next step and join the ride as shipments are expected to begin mid-November.  Can you afford not to be in the lead pack?

#44 and Counting!!!!

Courtesy of www.pba.com

The debate can finally end. Walter Ray Williams Jr. officially has more professional bowling titles than anyone in the history of the sport.

Williams captured his 44th career Denny’s PBA Tour title, dominating Chris Loschetter, 276-204, to win the 2007 Great Lakes Classic at Spectrum Lanes for his second title of the season.

Williams passed Earl Anthony to become the Tour’s all-time titles leader in the first event of the 2006-07 season. Some said Anthony was still ahead of Williams, however, as Anthony’s two USBC Masters titles are not recognized as Denny’s PBA Tour titles.

At 48 years old, Williams is off to one of the best starts of his 26-year career. He has made the championship round in four of the first seven events, winning twice and finishing second once. He also holds a big lead in the PBA Player of the Year race, which if it holds up would be his record seventh Player of the Year honor, breaking another Anthony record.

On Sunday, Williams came out on fire in the title match after a close semifinal against Mike Scroggins, in which he needed to double in the 10th to win. Williams threw a perfect shot with his first ball in the 10th then caught a break with his second shot when he threw it light and tripped the bucket, advancing with a 234-226 win.

“You have to have breaks along the way any time you win out here,” Williams (Ocala, Fla.) said. “You don’t always get strikes when you throw it well and sometimes you get strikes when you don’t throw it well. Fortunately I had a lot of good breaks this week. It was kind of silly.”

What’s silly is how well Williams is bowling this late in his career. The last time he won two titles this early in the season was 1998. He holds a more than 30,000 point lead in the PBA World Point Rankings, is second on Tour with $85,900 and leads the Tour in average by five pins.

He was nearly taken down by Scroggins, who held an 11-pin lead and was working on a four-bagger when he missed a 10-pin conversion in the seventh frame. Williams took the lead with a double but then gave it away when he seven-spared the ninth and Scroggins doubled in the eighth and ninth. The three-time titlist missed a chance to lock up the match, however, when he nine-spared and struck in the 10th.

Williams made sure things weren’t that close in the final match against Loschetter, who was looking to become the 10th bowler to win his first career title against Williams. After a nine-spare in the first frame, Williams struck nine consecutive times to wrap up the win.

Congratulations Walter Ray on your 43rd victory!

After finishing 4th last week in the USBC Masters, Walter Ray started this week by averaging 245.57 in his first block Thursday and then followed it up by averaging 233.57 over the final seven games in the second block to earn him the top seed in match play. When the dust settled, Walter Ray had earned the top seed for the televised finals. After winning the first match 217 to 215 he went on to win the championship match 214 to 194. This was Walter Ray's 43rd title and LevRg's first!

David Buzzo Rolls the 17th Perfect Score in the 2007 USBC Open Championships

By Matt Cannizzaro and David Ellis
USBC Communications
Using an Awesome Flip, David Buzzo of Davis Junction, Ill., decided to get in on the action Monday, May 8th, at the 2007 USBC Open championships by rolling the 3rd 300 of the evening. This was David's second trip to the Open Championships. Despite breaking 200 only once in his first eight games, the 42-year-old right-hander got lined up just in time and finished singles with 15 consecutive strikes, which helped him to games of 165, 187 and 300 for a 652 set. "This is such a relief after how I performed all weekend," said Buzzo, who added 581 in doubles and 513 in team for a 1,746 all-events total. "I actually felt like I had been rolling the ball well, and the results just weren't there. But it all came together in the end, so now I'm not leaving with a sour taste in my mouth."

Brazeau Wins First GBT Title In Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, IN -  Brian Brazeau turned 50 years old on January 17, and on March 12 he won his first national professional title. Brazeau, a pro shop operator and sales rep for Morich Bowling Products, defeated Hall of Famer Gary Dickinson 234-214 here at Georgetown Bowl Monday evening.
He earned $8000, and Dickinson claimed $4500 as the runner-up.
In the championship match, Brazeau was in control the whole way. He started with a four-bagger, left a 4 pin, then reeled off three more strikes to seal the victory. Dickinson started with a spare, then got three strikes, but left the 2-4-10 in the fifth. he made the split, but never could catch up without a double in the second half of the game.
"This whole day is a blur," said Brazeau. "Good fortune was with me all week. I'm kind of speechless. I had to beat two Hall of Famers to do this, and it's just a fantastic feeling. I just called my wife, and she's crying - everybody's happy! This is just great, really great!"
"I had a decent start," said Dickinson, "but I didn't throw it very good after that split in the fifth. I made it, but never got it going again. Even if I did, Brian had a really good look and he bowled so good he would have been hard to beat."
In the matches to determine the division winners, Brazeau defeated David Ozio 216-193, and Dickinson beat Ron Winger 216-179.

Fred Carroll, Jr, MoRich Technical Director
League play has its level. PBA Regionals are yet a step above. But imagine having the opportunity of rolling with the world's best? Fred did that and more! The first step was to test his skills and endurance against 114 other talented bowlers in the PBA Qualifier. After putting together games of 238, 237, 211, 268, 182, 235, and 267, Fred found himself in seventh place with a 1638 pin fall. This week seventh place was the cut for extra entries to fill the regular field for Thursday's PBA regular block qualifying. Fred took advantage of this opportunity by finishing 32nd after the seven game first block with scores of 258, 269, 226, 258, 211, 221, and 179 for a 1622 pin fall. Only the top 32 get to return for Friday's single match elimination so Fred came out in the second block later in the day in an attempt to guarantee a Friday slot. After the dust settled from his 1675 pin fall of games 257, 236, 264, 214, 190, 259, and 255, Fred found himself in 18th place -- an invitation to come back to bowl in Friday morning's Round of 32!

Twenty-one grueling physical and mental games later it's time for the real deal.  Friday morning started strong with a solid game of 235, but the Cheetah pattern lived up to its name as Fred moved across pairs the pattern got tighter and tighter and the game moved towards the outside. Winning the first game was a great start, but 4 wins are needed to advance to the next bracket. The next 2 games were tough, but his opponent scores were just a little better. Fred came back and won the 4th game to level it at 2 a piece. Unfortunately, his opponent won the next 2 games. The road is extremely tough for the non-regulars as attested to the few that actually make it through the early qualifier, then through the regular tour qualifier, let alone get the opportunity to bowl in match play and Fred did. Everyone at MoRich is proud to say.."Fred, congratulations you did well!"

Walter Ray Williams Joins MoRich Ball Staff (Pictures)..
Walter Ray Williams Jr., who recently set a new record for PBA career titles, has joined the ball staff of MoRich Enterprises, Grafton, Va. It's the first time WRW has been on a ball staff since 2001. "I feel good about signing and being associated with a ball company like MoRich," said Williams. "I know they have a lot of experience making a quality product because I've been fairly successful using their equipment." That goes without saying: Williams appeared on six out of the Tour's last eight telecasts using MoRich products, including those in which he set and broke the PBA career titles record (of Earl Anthony). "Walter Ray was a joy to work with in signing the contract," said Mo Pinel, President of MoRich, "and we look forward to working with him in the future." Added Williams: "Hopefully, I will be with the company for a long time." (Courtesy Oct 26, 2006, BJI Cyber Report)

Announcing the Awesome Revs..
MoRich has done it once again! Announcing the newest member in the Awesome series -- Awesome Revs. This 'Tri-colored Pearlized Particle' has a very angular breakpoint on medium to heavy oil. The coverstock can be easily adjusted to accommodate the amount of oil on the lanes.

Zeitvogel improves on his Rochester men's average record..
Finishes with 242 average at Bowl-A-Roll and now owns 47-300's and 30-800's. Jeff bettered his Rochester USBC Bowling Association average record when he finished at 242.2 for 90 games in the Friday Men's Shop League at Bowl-A-Roll Lanes this past season.  Zeitvogel's former city record was 241, set during the 2001-02 campaign in the very same league.  The southpaw's efforts in 2005-06 included a high series of 855, which was four pins shy of his career best.  Zeitvogel tallied five 300 games and three 800 series in the Friday evening league. "I want to thank Bryan Barnes at Pinbusters Pro Shop for drilling and adjusting the surface of the MoRich Ravage that I used all last season," Zietvogel said. His 47 career perfect games and 30 career 800 sets are the most league sanctioned honor scores recorded by a Rochester USBC Bowling Association member. Rhino Page threw the second highest singles total in the history of the WTBA with scores of 203, 248, 219, 279, 253, and 270 for a 1,481 total since the event was introduced in the WTBA in 1979.  This effort not only earned him a single's silver medal, but also the silver medal in all-events.  This effort propelled him to the Master's event where he claimed the bronze medal. Rhino also finished ninth in trios.

Scott Pohl had a respectable tournament finishing tenth in trios, fourth in singles, tenth in all-events, and round-of-eight in the master's.
